A long time ago, when I was very young, I bought my first house. A few months later, I got a pair of dalmatians. They were really good dogs. Except for one time...

I had came home from work, and opened the door- to the most unbelievable sight. The scene before my eyes was so incredible, I was literally in a state of shock. I dialed a friend in tears and just said "I need help..."

He came over, and helped me clean for hours...

What had they done?

Well, it started with the 1/16 scale balsa wood remote control airplane..it was GONE..COMPLETELY VANISHED. They had eaten everything, wood, plastic, paper plans, EVERYTHING.

Which, I suppose explained the piles of dog crap everywhere. This is no lie, every room of the house had at least 5 piles, strategically placed amongst the remnants of pillows, throws, and furniture cushions that they had destroyed.

On to the kitchen, where the linoleum tiles had been ripped up and destroyed.

Never again, will I own a dalmatian.

Our last dog chewed the legs of our dining room chairs and the cushions of the couch.

We had a dog several years ago that would chew anything of mine. She ate our checkbook and the shoes that I bought and had my wedding dress hemmed with. One day we left some filets out to thaw on the counter. When we came back the steaks were gone. We had hot dogs that night.

Molly just eats crayons.

Over the years they have eaten/destroyed a lot of things. Most memorable was a whole loaf of bread dough which I had left on the kitchen counter to raise.

Sebastian was a golden retriever mix and he was miserable. You could literally see the bread rise in his tummy as he layed on the bed next to us all evening.

i completly understand the dalmations. we had a dalmation that destroyed the couch. as if that wasnt bad enough he got my husbands wallet and chewed it which still had his paycheck in it. so i will never have a dalmation again either.

They should make doggy treats that look like crayons.....or candy-cookies...to make it less boring....so they don't have to resort to Louie Vuitton hand bags!

we've owned a few dogs over the years:

- our first lab dug a hole in a wall while we were in temporary military housing. she also ate the remote control for the TV in that place and our phone line (the cable in the backyard)--twice!

- my yorkie peed on my couch just to get back at me for yelling at him. took awhile to get the smell out.

- this lab has chewed through countless pairs of shoes, including my daughter's brand new ones; chewed the corner of my brand new coffee table (grrr); paper, toys, etc. he threw up a wad of something unidentifiable just the other day. ugh! i'm paranoid he's going to eat my camera equipment one day when i'm not looking!

I make a lot of brats in the summer on the grill. One day i made a package of 5. I came inside and put them on the counter. Walked in the other room for 5 seconds to tell my wife that dinner was ready.

There were 4 brats in the pan. I turned to look at Koda (my lab) and he has a brat hanging out of his mouth. He wasn't even eating it. He was just holding it like a cigar.

It was like he was saying--- "I noticed that there was 5 brats, 2 for you, 2 for mom, and 1 for me"

Damn dog. But how do you get mad at something like that?

We kept a black lab puppy who was "lost" one time and he dug up our brand new babthroom floor all the way down to the floor joints.

We had just had our bathroom redone from the subfloor up because of a water leak. One week later we offered to keep this puppy some of our friends found in their yard but was a little too rambunctious to be around their toddler. We put him in the bathroom overnight since we weren't sure he was housebroken. The next morning we could literally see into the basement when we opened the door.

This did have a happy ending as we found out that the contractor had not actually removed and replaced the subfloor as he said he did (and charged us for). Luckily he had not cashed the check we gave him the week previously so we stopped payment on the check, called him on it and after much arguing and threatening got the floor fixed for free.

A friend of mine has to take his dog to Doggy Day Care everyday..He can't afford to leave him alone in his apt alone anymore...the last thing it destroyed was his $3,000 leather couch. I have A POMERANIAN and luckily he has'nt ruined anything yet...I've him since he was 3 mos. and he's almost 6 yrs. now...

Not my dog (you can see she's a sweetie)...but our neighbor had a dog that chewed up the whole back seat to their golf cart they used to drive around on their property. Let's just say they were a little ticked. Although, they got the seat reupholdeterd, and the dog never went near it again!
