Has anybody switched to Hy-Vee?

Has anybody gone more than once?

I went to the Kroger across the street today and it wasn't a ghost town, seemed almost back to normal...still haven't been to Hy-vee.

I use my mom's Kroger card to get an extra 10% off of Kroger brands...I won't be switching to Hy-Vee anytime soon.

I've been there twice. Nice liquor section but UFS still kicks their (and everyone else's ass). They were promoting grouper fillets and were handing out samples. All I could taste was the seasoning they put on it. Culinary fail. Their meat looked good and they had some good deals. I'll probably go back in when I have more time to look around.

I've been on opening day and another time after researching sea bass. I like their meat and fish there. I'll go back, but it won't be my regular grocer.

Hmmm...I totally missed their booze section, although I was kinda in a hurry. It's nice, huh?

I have heard people compliment their meat section.

I wish one store had the all-around package. A loaf of bread should cost no more than $.80. Hy-Vee's eggs were cheap, but not bread. And Wal-Mart is not the cheapest when it comes to these types of items.

One store can not be the cheapest or always on the lower end of the price spectrum or they wouldn't make enough profit to survive.

Haven't been there yet, but i hear the deli kicks the crap out of Kroger and Schnucks, which wouldn't be hard to do, since they both have lame delis.

Schnucks, was a ghost town yesterday, btw, at 5PM

Schnucks has always seemed empty to me, no matter what time...

Been there twice, once to just walk around and get stuff to make a pizza, couldn't find the sausage...they were haveing cooler problems for that section.

Second time just to pick up some bread and buns. Not a huge fan of the layout, just seems like it doesn't flow...but then again, I am a linear type of guy.

I still do my shopping at Cubs

Haven't been yet, and don't really have a desire to go.

I don't mind schnucks when I'm in peoria. But I rather stop by Kroger on my way home....10/10 is a great deal!

and what is the deal lately with red bell peppers. Last week if you could find one for under $2.50 you had a steal. This week every one and their mom has them for a dollar.
