I am here, about to embark on Summer Vacation #2 of my Summer Vacation Trilogy. This one is a Staycation. We returned from our Seattle/Alaska cruise vacation on the 11th. Had a real blast! I worked every day after that. I am tired now and will enjoy these next 3 weeks off. Having hand surgery on Thursday. It is too hot outside but to sit home in the A/C and recuperate. How's everyone??

We have always considered taking an Alaskan Cruise.

Where did you go? Did you fly out of Peoria?

Alaskan Cruises start either one way trip to or from Alaska, in or out of usually Seattle, San Francisco, Vancouver ports. As well ad round trips. So you have to get yourself to the West Coast.

Our ports of call were Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria BC. People from all over the world and the US were on our cruise. We went on Celebrity Cruise line. By far the BEST cruise line we have been on thus far. The BEST! We took almost 2000 pictures and videos if that gives you any idea of the scenery and wildlife there. It was just too amazing to put into words! I will post a video as soon as DD finishes it. She holds our photos hostage in her laptop. I am getting anxious to see them myself!

I have a Cruise guy in the office next door to mine who has been on every cruise out there, and he says the Alaska cruise is his favorite. Hope the hand surgery goes well, eg.

Thanks Joe. I will be returning to Alaska sometime in my life. I surely did not get enough and that state is huuuuge! I am hard to impress. Mom Nature is always good at impressing me. But with Alaska, she out did herself!

I tried to convince my wife last year to do an Alaska cruise and she wouldn't bite... she said "those are for old people"....

Yes, there are old people on every cruise because they enjoy being pampered and eating great foods as much as we do. On a cruise there is something for everyone. They have optional activities and shows on board suitable for adults, seniors, kids, and teens. Off the ship we did Zipline, Rafting and bike riding. The only old people there were us! Talk you wife into it and bring your cameras, Mizz. Alaska is a photographers dream!!!

I know! That's why I wanted to go there... instead she wanted to go to Jamaica.
