If people are not aware, the new trash disposal provider in the City of Peoria is Peoria Disposal Company.

As some have noted above, they do offer pickup for recycled items. It is a monthly pickup, but they also offer large containers, the same size as garbage containers for a deposit.

With the large container, the recycled items can be kept outside, not under your kitchen sink !

It is my understanding that you have to order the large tote in order to qualify for the PDC pick-up. The deposit is $50.

I suspect the reason for requiring the large tote is to facilitate the lifting of the tote. There may be a mechanical assist on the trucks.

Yeah.. it is a $50 deposit, and I guess they give that back to you when you cancel or move or something. I didn't check on this but I'd imagine it's pro-rated, like if it's cracked or the wheel fell off or something you only get $20 back...

I'm not thrilled with the once-monthly pickup, especially considering how many times I missed the every-other-week pickups with the tub. it is nice to have the wheeled thing though instead of carrying the tubs out.
