We have a bank account for yearly expenses (house taxes, home insurance, and unexpected fix-it type things)... it gets deposited there.

But I like imagining what I could spend it on...

Same here. Still trying to finish certain parts of our house. I've been doing laundry in a half finished laundry room for 12 years now. After this spring, I think it will finally be complete!

I am doing my taxes this evening, hopefully I will get a little back...

I have no idea what I would do with it though...probably pay my yearly insurance bill.

The girlfriend and I got $5k back. It ALL went to CC bills. 3 have been totally paid off, 3 more to go.

I haven't done ours yet, but in skimming the tax tables and roughing out the deductions, I have a nagging feeling that we're gonna owe this year.

I think we're gonna owe cuz we pulled DD's college account out to spend it, which is why we are in no hurry to file.

Good job! That means you didn't let the Feds earn any interest off your money. Refunds are bad. It means you gave them too much in the first place.

I try to do that, and am happy if I owe under $100.00. I do feel like I failed some how since I am getting a decent refund.
