I really thought this was common sense. But I just got invited to a Super Bowl party and the hosts only have a 27" television.

Watching the Super Bowl on a 27" regular TV is like watching a bootleg copy of Avatar on a VHS tape recorded in SLP mode.

Ok, I thought the purpose of a Super Bowl party was to enjoy the company of friends and enjoy the game. Did you hate watching the Super Bowl before you got an HD tv?

You are either:
a) not a football fan
or
b) do not have HD television

Throwing a Super Bowl party with a sh!tty TV is the same as throwing a pool party/bbq with a kiddie pool and a Foreman grille.

I am both. I am a HUGE Bears fan and I have an HD TV. My point is, if someone wants to step up and throw a party and are kind enough to invite me, I'll be there! We went many, many years before the dawn of HD and managed to watch quite a few games on a TV without HD capabilities. If you are that serious about watching the Super Bowl, you probably should not be going to a party anyway, you can enjoy the game at home. A Super Bowl party is just that, a party.

I am a MAJOR football fan, I own a HD TV.

If my friends were hosting a party and didn't have a Hd I would still go and enjoy the company of my friends.

If you think only having a HD makes it worth your time for visiting with them, you are a VERY poor choice for a friend.

Yep, I'm a terrible friend for actually wanting to watch the game on a quality television.

I'm not a huge football fan, but I do enjoy getting together with friends for a bowl party. Unfortunately there is always that one guy yelling "Shup-up Shut-up, I can't hear."
Dude, it's a party. If you want to catch every detail, watch in the privacy of your own home.

I'm glad I have a 42" HD tv to watch the commercials on... Makes those commercials look damn good!

I don't need every detail but 15 people crowding around a 27"' TV doesn't sound like my idea of a party.

Why not just host a party on one of the other 364 days of the year?

Terrible analogy. You can't have a true opinion of something that you've never experienced. How is someone who has never seen high definition know what they are missing?

My standards are higher than most people's. I don't accept subpar quality. But that's just me. It's worked out pretty well for me so far.
