Local Groceries In Fear Of Hy•Vee

Notice a lot of changes at the local grocery stores?
Kroger - Lake Avenue completely rearranged the store. Schnuck's has some crazy Liquor section redesign going on.
Kroger on Sterling is rearranging and has new display cases coming in, so I finally asked them why and the answer I got from the manager was that all the local stares are freaking out, trying to be as competitive as Hy•Vee

(It IS Hy•Vee, right)

Haddads has nothing to worry about, I will still go there most of the time anyway.

I second that.

So who's the weakest? Who do you think will go under first?

Never heard of Hypee.. I shop at Sams Club and Schnucks(primarily for the deli) and I don't see that changing.

It is a blood sucking, pocket book emptying, mass of destruction. But I still go there. Glutton for punishment I guess.

I think Kroger has the most to lose.
Their service, meats and selection all suck.
I prefer Schnucks, myself, although I can't understand why they don't sell all natural pet foods.

I think when they first open they will give the others a run for their money but we will see when the " honeymoon " is over.

I’m hoping the Campustown Sav-a-Lot bites the dust. Horrid!

No..but I'm thinking for as much yammering as he does about how little he makes, I'd rethink the 'all natural pet' foods!

I try to go to Target but it is almost impossible to avoid Wal-Mart all of the time.

lol!

I just ordered a couple boxes of contact lenses from Walmart. I am supposed to pick them up this afternoon. I have not been inside a Walmart in a few years.

Are there certain precautions I should take before I enter?
