Police: Wal-Mart Shopper Slaps Crying Child
Roger Stephens Charged With Felony Cruelty To Children POSTED: 9:26 am EDT September 2, 2009 UPDATED: 11:45 am EDT September 2, 2009 STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- A Wal-Mart shopper who became so angry about a crying child that he allegedly slapped the girl in the face is due in court Thursday morning, officials announced Wednesday. Investigators said the incident happened Monday at the Stone Mountain store on Rockbridge Road. A police report said the man, Roger Stephens, 61, of Stone Mountain, had warned the child’s mother, Sonya Mathews, that if she didn’t quiet down the child, he would do it for her. According to the report, after the mother failed to quiet the girl, Stephens came up to them and slapped the child several times in the face. |

Oh my! I thought a parent had done the slapping...
I wish I could've slapped a little girl behind me in line at Schnuck's yesterday...she was about 6 and threw a fit like I had never seen before, she was almost growling. |

If anyone did that to my crying child I would need to be forcibly restrained because of the pummuling I would be giving the slapper.
I am the only one who can slap my kid! |

I hated that saying when I was younger, I didn't even understand what it meant...I sure do now, and say it all of the time!

The little girl is only about 2 yrs old, I'll be damned if some stranger is going to raise a hand to my child let alone make contact. He's lucky he got out of there with all his limbs, I would have gone berserk if anyone dared hit my child. Mama bear would have been out in full force.
What I want to know is why didn't the Mom remove her child from the situation when he threatened her and say something to security before it got out of hand. |

I don't condone this old @$$hole slapping the child, and yes...he would have been picking his dentures up off the floor had he slapped my child. BUT..Cali is right. Mom should have removed the child from the situation...but should have probably also stopped the ridiculous behavior.

People of Walmart.....
People of Walmart was founded in August of 2009 by three friends and roommates after an inspirational trip to WalMart. Let’s face it; we all have seen the people who obviously don’t have mirrors and/or family and friends to lock them in a basement, and they all seem to congregate at Walmart. It’s not everywhere that you can shop for milk at 10 a.m. next to a 400lb mother of 6 wearing a pink tube top, leopard tights, and hooker heels. Where else can one go to pick up underwear at 3 O’clock in the afternoon and spot the greatest mullet of all time paired with a mustard stained wife beater (which only accents the extreme amount of body hair) and camo pants that were actually used in Vietnam. And if you haven’t run into the 6’2” bull-dyke with a shaved head, rockin a wonder bra, flannel cutoff shirt, and jean shorts at 2 a.m. when you’re there to pick up frozen pizza, chips, and cookies, then you can get the **** out right now. This is purely for entertainment purposes and strictly limited to the outrageously bad / ugly / creepy / crazy shoppers. We don’t need to see pictures of you and your dumb friends dicking around at Walmart. There is no reason to send us pictures of people that are seriously and unfortunately handicapped so don’t be an *******. We are trying to have some fun here and there is a difference between someone who is mentally challenged and a person who has a fu Manchu and is still rocking MC Hammer pants. We would also like to stress that we are in no way liable if you get your ass beat by Bubba when he catches you taking his picture. Have fun, and Enjoy! http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ |

If someone did that to my kid, I'd need someone to bail me out, because I would kick the living crap out of the guy.
