It seems to me that there is a certain clique of people here that get along very well and know each others tendacies and what not. If you are not one of those people and you make a statement that one of those people don`t agree with, you will be ridiculed and mocked to no end. Well I am tired of it, so I am not saying that I won`t post or join in conversations anymore. But I don`t think I will participate as much as I used to. Some of you will say "good riddance", I can handle that. Some of you are very nice,respectful,and intelligent people. But all I ever tried to do was fit in and give my view or my perspective on things. I know I am older than a lot of the posters, so maybe a little more knowledge about some things (maybe not). But in the end I felt like an outcast. So I will stay on the outside and let you folks have your space. I would say that I will never post again, but temptation is a very strong force.

I'm sorry you feel that way. On some topics people agree more than others and sometimes it does feel like an attack when others don't agree with you but I don't think anyone is malicious.

This place wouldn't be the same, or any fun, if everyone agreed on every topic.

You and I have had a couple of differences of opinion, but I'd certainly hate to see you go. Differences are what makes the world go round. It would be a boring old world if we all liked chocolate ice cream. Everyone has an opinion, and you have every right to express yours. Stick around. We're sort of like a huge slightly disfunctional family. Curious though. How old are you?

I can understand where you are coming from Superman, but I don't think you should let it get you down. People are people...and they're going to do whatever they want. Don't let it affect your thoughts or actions - Life is too short! Hope you stick around....

I’m sorry to hear you say that Super, I hope you’ve never felt “excluded” by me. I’d like to think I treat everyone with respect, even those who have disrespected me. I’ve always felt that you have a hard exterior but I know you’re a decent person and just come off as harsh. For what it’s worth I’ve always respected your opinion. I do know exactly what you mean about the “cliques” though as I’ve been a frequent target of them. I refuse to allow them to push me out with rude comments and I’m disappointed that you are. If anything, stick it out just to p*ss them off.

That's too bad you feel that way, Superman. I don't see any cliques here, at least not like I've experienced in other forums. Some forums are so tight it is impossible to "get in". This is by no means one of them! I find the people here to be open, honest and accepting.

There is something to be said about behaving in a diplomatic manner without accusing, without insulting, without name-calling in a written forum of mixed company. Writing to be understood is a talent. Some people have a knack for it. Most people don't. In no way can you understand where a person is coming from simply by reading a post. You can't hear how old a person is. You can't tell about a person's background or experiences in the matter. But you can hear undertones and attitude. But the worse thing you can do...you can ASSume.
