Yes, I KNOW, some of us are sick of hearing about him, IAM also, but I just heard on HLN that they are trying to figure out who should pay for his Public Memorial. His family or the City!!! WTF ever, I say HIS FAMILY!

now they are offering 1700 free tickets to his funeral for the public . wtf ? why should the city pay for it ? how about when i go will the city pay for it . i bet not

The city is pretty much held hostage by his fame... they have to pay for crowd control, cleanup, etc... Maybe they shoulda just not allowed the memorial to be held. Must be counting on revenue to make up for the $$$ they have to spend. I hope that's the case but I sure wouldn't count on it.

And what about all the ppl who bought tickets to his concerts that will never be held? Last I heard they said there wasn't going to be any refunds. That's just not right!

I would like to know though why the family opted to not bury him on his Neverland estate that he abandoned years ago. Looks like gold digging daddy Joe would have been all into that so he could cash in like Presley's family did.

This is probably going to sound morbid and cynical, but it's a different perspective on this conversation.

I think the city or the local convention & visitors bureau should foot the bill for any memorials to MJ. Why? because they're the ones that will PROFIT from it. Think about it - how many things have been subsidized by our wonderful city with PROFIT in mind? (hotels, civic centers, museums, etc.) A memorial to the King of Pop will not be any different to any community that creates it. People will flock to it from all corners of the globe to say that they've been there, and the local business will benefit the most.

I guarantee that I won't ever support the erection of anything more than a typical gravestone, but that's just my opinion.
