Inexpensive or free Valentine's Day Ideas?

Ok...V-day has to be a frugal 1 this year. I'm thinking I'm going to scrapbook a wall hanging for each child w/ a picture of them on it and a "10 things I love about you" list on it. I know boys don't really go for this sort of thing, but maybe someday they'll love it??? Oh yeah, I'm thinking I"ll throw in some homemade cupcakes or cookies too...now would that work?
Hubby has to work that day so he and I decided to simply have a homemade pizza (most definitely will include sauerkraut and canadian bacon pizza) and a movie night (fireproof as we haven't seen it yet). Who knows maybe I'll go crazy and make the pizza into a heart shape ha. Any other ideas? |

You're regifting again Raoul? Isn't that the same thing you got her for Christmas? Keep that up and you're going to force her to ask for an exchange.

lol Raoul, I didn't know you were such a romantic.
Maybe I should give him boobs in a box? Would make quite the scrapbook now wouldn't it. I could always make boob shaped pizza. You're just a bad influence. |

May I suggest picking up the most current issue of Peoria Area Dining & Food Magazine. A certain local area Chef & PDC contributor wrote an article about having a romantic Valentines Day dinner at home....well, unless you don't want to have a romantic Valentines Dinner at home.

A mighty fine Chef indeed. I think I’ll avoid dinner at home.

Chef, do you copyright your recipes or are they too complicated to post in the recipe thing. Do you still cook?? where?

Currently, my recipes aren't copywrited. Why? Someone changes two ingredients in it and they are no longer "my" recipes. the cookbook is slowly coming so I'm not giving too many recipes away for free. Can ya blame me? Need a recipe, happy to share, though.
Complicated? Some are. One of my oldest standbys is one of the easiest things to make and tastes 5 stars Currently, I cook nowhere on a frequent basis. I do cook for the Wine & Dine Experience for Willetts Winery in Manito and help them out infrequently with other events. I teach an occasional cooking class at the Bronze Frog. I cook the occasional Sunday brunch at Panache which is sometimes spur of the moment. I'm also for hire as a caterer, but only do small events (usually upscale casual in home dinner parties) if I can work them around my real work schedule. You can catch up to where I am cooking at chefkevincooks.com Sorry for the commercial. Now, back to our regularly scheduled PDC posting...... |

Have the girls or a bunch of friends over, everyone bring a bottle of wine and have your own wine-tasting party. Its what Cheri and I are thinking of doing.

Well, I can't think of anything better than spend V-day with my girlfriends...when I don't have a date and don't even care!!
