Every parents worst nightmare...

I heard on the radio a few times today a story about 3 Creve Couer children who "ran away from home". They left a note to their parents to not look for them. The police were called and to make a long story short they were found hiding out in the woods this morning, cold, very scared, but unharmed. Whew, can you imagine what those poor parents went through. Geez!

OMG! I instantly thought of my niece and nephews that live in Creve Coeur and are the same age as those kids. I would absolutely be beside myself freaking out! How scary!!

Hopefully they scared themselves enough that they learned their lesson about doing something so stupid.

It makes you think what is going on in that home that all three children would want to leave! I hope someone investigates it...Poor Kids!

Yeah, if that family didn't need counseling before they'll probably need it now. If I had done that as a kid I would have been more afraid of what my parents would do if they DID find me as opposed to if they didn't find me. Yikes!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's going on with the parents...I hope DCFS checks up on them. It's just not normal for all three kids to want out and never come home.

Perhaps. Who knows. I am always afraid to criticize without knowing the whole situation for fear that the same thing could happen to me! I remember before I had kids I would see some toddler throwing a fit in the grocery store and think "my kids would NEVER be that way!" Ha!

It will be interesting to find out the rest of the story...I think of the weather last night also...it was cold, windy, rainy...why wouldn't they have gone back home? Unless they were terrified! Yikes!

The news said they were checked out by paramedics when they were found and reurned home to the parents, I thought that's it ! No, intervention ? Never did it say the parents, themselves had been searching for them

Lets not be too quick on judging the parents. even good parents have power struggles with their kids from time to time. How old are the kids? Is it not possible the parents finally united to try and get control and the kids are not happy about it. As someone already said lets hear the whole story before we started judging. Things are not always what they appear to be. Does any body really know this family???
This is what I like about peoria .com we get to hear lots of different views and not from one or two perharps bias sources. Thus we are not dependent on one source who thinks they know the whole story or are just promoting their own agendas. |
