Until the day some of you look at being five figures down and looking at losing your house and car like I was, feel free to make the condecending remarks. Until then, STFU.

I have baby formula to give. It is enfamil. I can give you baby cereal. Call 309 347 4184 and get in asap for WIC. Go to food pantries. Go work at McDonald's to help. I will do anything I can to help your baby. Please let me know if you are interested in some of the formula and cereal that I can give to you.

I read this and my heart breaks for you Hipkat because I have been there, done that. Things will get better but it is up to you to gain control once again. You are your own worse enemy at this point. Feeling out of control paralyzes you as you sit and wait for the perfect situation to present itself to you. It never will. You have to go get it. The best suggestion I have for you is to go out and get productive. It may not pay ALL the bills but it will take care of your self esteem and put some food on the table, and milk for the baby.
The past is the past and it is time to move on...forget it and make a move to make your future brighter. Take a job that where you are over-educated, over-qualified, past your prime etc...it will make you feel good. There is NO such thing as a job that is beneath you! What would this world be without our Garbage Collectors, Janitors, Fast food workers, retail sales, drivers and other service areas? As much as people skoff at those jobs, we NEED those people to make our world go around. Go BE one of those people. GO make the world around or you once again. You did it before you can do it again. |

Yep! We are getting 2 of these units plus a special add-on of boneless skinless chicken breasts.
You can't beat this and and there are no income requirements. They also take the LINK card. Everything is good. Their steaks are the best. |

Chef, I've been there....so that why I had to say something. I've been working nothing less then 60hrs a week, usually more since Feb of this year. Until the period I lost my job, then I got two and still am working at least 60 hours, usually more a week. Right now this thread makes me want to |

You could turn to a local church for help. They give out food and help in many other ways. They'll even help you to get a job. At least that's the way the one's in Fl. where I live do things. I'm sure the ones in Peoria are like that too.

One problem with having multiple jobs would be he does not have his own transportation. I have never used public transportation in Peoria but I am guessing that would hinder where and what hours you could work a second job.

call your dr's office ,Wic office ,link office,DCFS,childrens, home, catholic charities, lutheran social service ect ect, dream center, women's strength, Salvation army , and any local food pantries, and churches to see if they have any containers of formula or formula samples and then call the formula companies and see about getting some samples. Whatever you do don't water down the formula to make it last longer that can be very dangerous.

Raoul Duke writes:
That's exactly right! When you said you would not take a job that paid less than it cost to run your house, I was under the impression you did not have a job at all. It sounds like you have one that pays less than minimum wage with the false promise of earning more? The promise is that as time goes on, mailed in payments will start coming, added to any sales I get paid on the spot... blah, blah, blah. It doesn't help me now though, and it's a typ;ical sales ploy to keep you working. diezelmom303 writes: mike goes thru that town alott , and you would think if hes haulin hazmat he w ould be targeted more . but hes never had any probs up there . i know our walmart and target our hiring for xmas help even in the recieving dept . are they doing that down there ? walmart wont hire me as i havent worked in 10 yrs It was in my personal vehicle that they got me. As for Tape, if it costs me 300 a week to run my house and I bring home 200 a week, that's pretty counter productive isn't it? And anywhere I'm gonna work, I'm going to have to take the bus, so getting a second job where I'll have to work til or past 11PM is going to limit me on where I can work. As for the temp thing, I had never considered it, so it's below me, I just never even thought about that. Sure, there are a lot of 8.00 an hour jobs, which at 40 hours is about 250.00 take home. That is not going to pay my bills, and let me review: I'm not looking for handouts, specifically, I'm looking for a GOOD job. I can dig my way out of a hole, but not if I'm not making a decent friggin wage, and I'm not talking some poverty level income, which, btw, is what $10.00 an hour is. I never said I hate Peoria, ever. But I have griped about the lack of good jobs and the low pay scale here. Even Caterpillar starts at less that $9.00 an hour. You can think it's a con all you want, Tape, and you can kiss my ass while you're at it. You got something better to offer? have at it, I'm listening, but unless you're where I am right now, you're talking out your ass. Trust me, I'm not feling so proud when I'm laying awake everynight in a panic over all this. I really appreciate all the ideas and suggestions, and I'll persue every one of them. |

Good Luck on the interview tomorrow! We were on WIC before and it does help out. They can also help give you places to call if you need diapers and such as well.
