Hi there my family's new to town. We want to take the kids to the lights parade tomorrow night, but I don't know the route. I'm wondering if anybody can give me pointers on where to park or stand? Also, I read that there's a fireworks display afterwards. I'm wondering where that takes place too. I'd really appreciate any tips or advice!

I've never seen the fireworks display but the lights are beautiful. I'm assuming we're talking about the same thing. I think you just drive through and it's beautiful. I know you will love it.

Parade starts at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 (Most roads along the parade route will be closed by 5:15 p.m.)
Starts at intersection of East Washington Street and Dolans Lane
Ends just past the Public Safety Building in the 200 block of West Washington Street

The parade is Saturday and after they get them set up at the park then you can do the drive thru to look at them. We have never gone to the parade. We would like to when the kids are a little older. We normally just drive thru during the week when it is a little cheaper.

oooooh.. I didn't know they had a parade. Kewl. We learn something new everyday.

i had posted i will be in town sat for the parade  .  yep there is a fireworks display we watch them b4 and after the parade .   you  will love it the dragon come s in circles and came up to us last year and blew smoke at us .

where are the fireworks at Diez?

welp we park ina lot by the rr tracks by meadows  on washington  and we seen them behind us towards meadows  that was the start of the parade then afterwards driven outta traffic  by the dennys and is it khols now ? on camp st .  we seen some more last year .  soi got too see them while sitten in traffic . loooking towards the super walmart and lowes

We go early (4:15)and park at the Fondulac Park Adminstration Building and eat supper at Monicals which is across the street for the admin. building.

The Winter Wonderland is not open until Friday the 5th this year. So no drive thru for this weekend. I believe the Fireworks are set off at the park where the Winter Wonderland is at. That is up Springfield Road. I think you can see them from just about anywhere on the parade route. The Parade starts on Washington (sorta of by Avanti's) and ends up by the old Shopko/ Caterpillar area.

Come early to get a good parking spot.

If you find a spot at Washington just east of main they do the stage show there also, in past years The Bells of Harmony use to do a nice show, I'm sure they'll be there, and you can hear the local news media give info on each float as it passes by, that's the best spot to be.
