The Peoria Parks District covers over 60 square miles of Peoria parks and facilities in Peoria and surrounding communities, and can be ranked among the top public park systems in the nation.  The Peoria Parks district has been awarded the National Recreation and Park Association's Gold Metal Award three times, and is accredited as a Distinguished Park district.  Their mission:  To enrich life in our community through stewardship of the environment and through provision of quality Peoria recreation and leisure opportunities.
